Calling All Intercessors of the South Shore
We are looking to create a Network of South Shore Intercessors. This will connect the Intercessors throughout the region through some form of communication so that the prayers of Gods People will rise up in one accord. We will also be looking to hold monthly meeting of intercession throughout the region.
If you have or feel you may have a burden for intercession please contact:

VISION
Have you ever seen a
city-wide Church? It’s the Church that Jesus sees when He looks at Boston
and the surrounding area, the Church that’s made up of all those who are truly
following Him. Usually this city-wide Church is invisible to us—one of the
major goals of 10 Days is to make it
visible, and in the process, reveal who Jesus is. We are His Body, after
all!
It’s a mourning because of sin and brokenness in us and in the world which causes the daily devastation we’ve come to accept.
It’s a recognition that there’s only one who can satisfy, that there is only one who can Rescue.
While we are the Body of
Christ on earth right now, Jesus Himself is physically in heaven, seated at
God’s right hand. We know He’s coming back quickly; as some of us repeat
every Sunday in the Apostle’s Creed “He is coming again to judge the living and
the dead”. We know that “when we see Him, we will be like Him”.
Romans 8:23 speaks of
this deep longing for Christ’s return when it says, “we groan inwardly, waiting
eagerly for…the redemption of our bodies.” 10 Days is designed to bring
that groan, which is already deep inside of us, to the surface.
It’s a longing for
things to be as they should be.
It’s a mourning because of sin and brokenness in us and in the world which causes the daily devastation we’ve come to accept.
It’s a recognition that there’s only one who can satisfy, that there is only one who can Rescue.
It’s a heart-cry for
Jesus’ return.
Matt. 9:15 “How can the
guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when
the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.”
Envision
One Day
Here’s what a typical
day will look like:
Believers will have
spent the day in God's presence through prayer and worship. That
fragrance of worship will be filling the place and even spilling out into the
neighborhood. The hearts of those who have spent the day in prayer will
be sensitized to God’s presence—their lives will have been touched. In
the afternoon God will be touching lives outside the church through the
outreach.
By the time the evening
gathering comes, there will be testimonies of what God has done in the prayer
room and on the streets. Then, a large cross-section of the church in
that area will gather together. Brothers and sisters gathering for
worship from every tribe, tongue, nation, and language; for many of them this
is their first time to worship together, all together declaring the praise and
goodness of God as they cry out for God’s intervention in Boston and the surrounding
area with one voice.

FASTING
From Sept 16-26, were inviting you to join believers around Boston and New England in 10 Days of Fasting.
Fasting is one of the best ways to set yourself apart for a special season of seeking God. We dont need to fast to receive grace from God, but it is one expression of faith that tangibly expresses our desire and desperation to encounter Him, be conformed to His image, and advance His Kingdom on the earth.
Help! I've never fasted before
Fasting can seem intimidating, especially if you have never done it before. However, fasting has been a normal Christian activity since the time of Christ. Fasting can be difficult at times, but the rewards spiritually and physically are definitely worth the risk and the effort. Fasting does not have to mean drinking only waterin fact, there are many ways to fast.
There are 2 kinds of fasts that we would like you to consider for the 10 days:
Water and Juice fast: Only water and fruit and vegetable juices
Daniel fast: no meat, no sugar, no animal products, no refined foodsa vegan fast
In addition, were inviting everyone into a media fast - abstaining from non-work related technology and from entertainment. This is a great complement to the other fasts and also an alternative for those who cannot fast from food.
How Do I do this?
Its easy! Here are some helpful guidelines to make this as easy as possible.
Begin on the evening of Sept 16th after your evening meal. End your fast around Sundown on Sept. 26.
Be clear with yourself. Decide in advance what you will do (Daniel fast, Juice fast, Media fast, etc.) and stick to it. Make it specific for yourself I am not going to eat Chinese food, drink tea and coffee, check Facebook, etc. so that youre not constantly wondering can I do this or that.
Wean yourself off of caffeine and other drugs. Avoid the pain! Begin reducing consumption at least a week in advance to avoid headaches.
Watch for ups and downs. In a fast, sometimes you feel great and sometimes you feel not so great. This is normal. Allow for extra time to rest and have grace for yourself and for others.
Fasting is a voluntary discipline. You should enter into a fast of your own accord, not because of pressure from outside. Fasting is also best done in community. We strongly encourage you to fast with friends from your small-group, local church, or prayer group during these 10 days. Meet periodically for prayer and check in on one another throughout.
Children and pregnant or nursing mothers should not fast. If youre taking prescription medications, please consult your health professional before entering into an extended fast. As a general rule, a Daniel fast is safer for diabetics or those on prescription medications.
Please do your own research before you begin an extended fast. We recommend the following resources as a good place to start.
